Visiting the squadron

The squadron holds weekly meetings on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in building 252 on Pease ANG base. To get on the gate pass list, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to your planned arrival so that we can make the necessary arrangements with base security.

Occasionally we have meetings, training classes or exercises off base at the NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) building.

Directions to Building 252 and the NHDES Building...

Welcome to the Seacoast Composite Squadron (NH-010). Originally formed as the "Black Cat Squadron" in 1941, Seacoast Composite Squadron is the oldest continuously manned squadron in CAP. Our squadron patch proudly displays a vintage Stinson in original CAP yellow paint scheme dropping a bomb on a German U-boat outside Portsmouth Harbor - home to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard - during World War II.
"Seacoast" is a composite squadron, which means that we have Senior Members (Adult Officers and NCOs) as well as Cadets. Regular squadron meetings are held on Thursday evenings and training is normally done on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

We are based in Building 252 at Pease Air National Guard base (formerly Pease AFB, home of the 509th BMW) in Newington, New Hampshire. Pease ANG base is currently home to the KC-135s of the 157th ARW. The members of Seacoast squadron are proud and honored to share facilities with them, as well as thankful for all their support over the years.

Because Pease ANG Base is not an open installation, anyone wishing to visit the squadron will be required to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Possess a valid DoD ID card
  • Possess a valid CAP ID card
  • Possess a valid Drivers License and be added to the gate list with the ANG security forces
Please see the 'Visiting the squadron' section to arrange a visit.

General Information
In 1946, Congress granted a charter to the Civil Air Patrol, charging its members with three missions. First, CAP was to promote aviation. As years passed, that mission expanded to include aerospace education as well. Second, CAP was to provide a training program to support the nation's youth in contributing to society and preparing for successful adult lives. Finally, CAP was to continue its emergency services, the work for which CAP is still best known today. CAP volunteers still serve America through these three core missions...
